Part 1

27 YEARS OLD NECKLACE 

A night full of cold and fog, she was walking back home in a snowy road, from a grocery shop. She just got married to Smith after being friends for 4 years throughout their academic career. They were struggling individuals who had fought with many social barriers yet had the living lives of successful persons. She was just 23 and everything was going on so perfect in their lives. They had their small house in a small town of Vernilea located in southern parts of Snowy Land. Celebrations of seasonal events were among the main significant culture of Vernileans. It was time for seasonal celebrations in the town and people were preparing for it. She came back home from the grocery with a pure smile on her face and Smith welcomed her warmly as always. They had their dinner and a night full of activities as they were busy decorating their house so the whole night they spent working on now only one day was left in the mega celebration of the town.

"Is anybody home?" Angelica heard this voice coming from outside of the house and called Smith while she was setting a table for breakfast.

"Hey man! you are there, come over" Smith welcomed someone quite warmly. He was a friend of Smith, he joined them on breakfast and gave them an invitation card. Angelica asked about it and found this time their town celebration will be joined by Royals of their country for they wanted to include this town officially in their possession as a second home to The Royals.

"What an amazing event this will become I guess then" she finished her plate very soon and left both of them to sit by themselves. Smith and his friend took their time while this whole time Angelica never came downstairs. It was quite weird for her husband as he had never seen such behavior from her wife. 

Almost after 2 hours she came and told something even more strange thing to Smith. "Honey, we don't even have something proper to wear and we are about to attend a Royal event" as she said Smith laughed out at his full. 

"This is not a Royal celebration, this one is ours, they are going to come and join us here... in our place, wow! you made me worried earlier but for nothing" He laughed again and sat on the sofa.

Angelica came closer and her eyes were full of wish as she was just shaping her thoughts all this time. "I need a real pearl necklace to wear Smith... I am really wishing this" she said without hesitating.

"What? are you out of your mind already... we have everything we wanted and we are struggling for even better. Isn't this too much far from what you are wanting"Smith could not believe her words as he knew both of them had an idea for what they can purchase and what they can not.

But she sounded quite serious about that. It took almost 1 complete hour when she convinced him about her idea of how can they get a real pearl necklace within a night. Both of them knew their whole family could not even dream of such a big wish to come alive, they all were struggling and dedicated to work people who believed in living with love and peace but not with the material wishes.

Smith was not happy with her idea and wish but he loved her so much, how could he leave her alone now. They both went to The Mayor's house, whose wife's maid was a friend of Angelica. 

They reached the biggest and beautiful house in this town, all decorated with red lights because of the celebration the other night. Sara - the maid of Mayor's wife was shocked to listen to what her friend was asking her for. At first, she denied but they managed to take her favor. She was nodding her hair while murmuring something to herself when she went inside. She came back after a while with a black box in her hands, covered with black cloth. "Do not forget to bring it back by 12:00 after the party ends", Sarah said this quickly and asked them to go back hurriedly. Smith looked quite uneasy while Angelica was acting like a winner. It was dead silence during the whole way home.

The town was glittering with snow and artificial lighting the next evening. People were wearing beautiful traditional dresses that reminded a Royal era of the 80s. Smith and his wife were also ready to go. 

Angelica looked like a real princess in her frock, wearing a 3 layered pearl necklace with red shining lipstick. They were dancing in the couple dance of town and Angelica was the center of attention for everyone. Soon the Royals arrived and joined the celebration. 

Just when the dinner was about to serve Angelica felt something missing, she suddenly checked necklace and it was gone. It felt like she lost her breath for a while but pulled back her senses together and looked for it everywhere. Smith was drinking with his friends as she saw his wife acting strange, "Honey! Is everything ok?" just when he was asking her, he noticed the necklace missing. He shouted all of sudden, "Where the hell you have lost it?"

"I swear I never took it off" she replied with a weak voice. There was no time to fight further, they both were searching necklace together.

In the colorful night of joy, Smith and Angelica looked out of color!
